THE KROOBATA

For those who don’t know what kroobata is…

Kroobata is a variant of laamb. It is entered into when one of the opponents blows the horn of discord, or horn of challenge. Only 3 outcomes are acceptable in kroobata.

1. The death of a fighter.

2. The eat-the-earth: this means making your opponent eat the ground or the grass. It automatically leads to the dishonored wrestler being banished from the city. A distinctive scar is then marked on the face of the dishonored one.

3. The YAKI: this is when the wrestler who has the chance to kill his opponent does not do so out of lack of courage. He is automatically banished, as in the case of the eat-the-earth. The survivor, for his part, may go on living. He is then said to be a “douaoudé”.
