This privacy policy applies to the mobile app Kuma — Contes d’Afrique, published by Ultimes Griots (Petro Ivoire, Angré, Lot 19 îlot 1, 01 BP 6468 Abidjan 01, Côte d’Ivoire), as well as to the website ultimesgriots.com.

1. Who we are

Ultimes Griots publishes Kuma, an educational app for children that introduces them to traditional African tales. We pay particular attention to protecting children’s privacy and comply with the COPPA (Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act) as well as the GDPR of the European Union.

2. Data we collect

  • Parent account — email address and password, managed via Firebase Authentication (Google).
  • Child profile — first name or nickname, age range, avatar — entered by the parent when creating the profile. We collect no information directly from the child.
  • Usage data — progress through the tales, badges earned, reading statistics (Firebase Firestore, Firebase Analytics).
  • Technical data — anonymized crash reports (Firebase Crashlytics), an installation identifier used for aggregated marketing attribution (AppsFlyer) — with no personal data linked to the child.
  • Payment data — subscriptions are processed by RevenueCat and by the Apple / Google platforms. We never store credit card numbers.

3. How we use this data

  • To provide, secure and improve the service (content, progress backup, customer support).
  • To prevent fraud and secure accounts.
  • To analyze app usage in an aggregated and anonymized way.
  • We display no advertising and do not carry out any personalized advertising.

4. Data sharing

We never sell or rent your data. It is shared only with our technical service providers (Google/Firebase, RevenueCat, AppsFlyer), strictly to the extent necessary for the operation of the service, and under contractual confidentiality commitments.

5. Data security

All data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and at rest, on Google Cloud / Firebase infrastructure, which complies with international security standards.

6. Parents’ rights

As a parent or legal guardian, you may at any time access, correct or request the deletion of your child’s data by contacting us at editions@ultimesgriots.com. We respond within 24 business hours.

7. Data retention

Data is retained as long as the account is active. If the account is deleted, the data is deleted or anonymized within a reasonable period, unless there is a legal obligation to retain it.
